Long Awaited Update

Dear Pastor and Friend,

A  Blessed New Year!!   That is my prayer for you, your family and church!!

This past year has been a time of joy, excitement and blessings in our new direction of ministry God has placed us in!! We were little apprehensive about being an Evangelist at the beginning but as the year has progressed and we have allowed God to use us we have seen Him do some amazing works. God has used us to strengthen, encourage and revive both churches and pastors. We have had precious souls baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. The Gifts of the Spirit have been present. The number of Verified miracles in many of the revivals is numerous. In one revival. On one night, SEVEN verified miracles occurred!! I have preached only Biblical truths and doctrine….and will continue to do so.

Lynn and I have personally been greatly blessed in this endeavor. We were blessed to have all of our needs met.  At the end of September we traveled North to Louisville to begin a week of revival and then on to GC. I began experiencing a problem in my right eye. Determined I was going to have revival I gave the situation over to God. We especially enjoyed GC because on the last night, a young lady, grand daughter of the pastor where we held revival, accepted our invitation to attend GC with us. On Friday evening, in the back of the convention center she raised her hands and was immediately filled with the Holy Ghost. We held another fantastic revival after GC and then returned to begin another revival in Louisville. It was then I felt I needed to go to the emergency room for my eye problem. They diagnosed it as a detached retina. Surgery was immediately scheduled. God had us in the proper place.   The surgery was done by one of the best eye surgeons in Louisville and in the best Hospital. I am recovering wonderfully with vision restored in that eye. Also, all of my hospital bills were paid in full!!  God has surely been present with us all along the way.

We shall continue on ….We shall continue on evangelizing….We shall continue on …. , going where God directs us….

Lastly…Thank you for having us this past year.  It was a blessing and a privilege to have been in revival with you.

I am asking that you would prayerfully consider scheduling us on your calendar for a weekend or weeks of revival for this new year of 2012. Sis McClary and I would welcome the opportunity to minister in your church again.

Please call , email or text   We are looking forward to hearing from you. I believe 2012 is going to be a great year for the Apostolic church!!

Acts 2:38

Salvation is Simple...

Why attempt to complicate it....??

Repent.....Place sins on altar, change your mind about sinning, stop sinning...

be Baptised....immersed in Water..

In the Name of Jesus.......The Biblical way...

For remission of Sins.....Sins are 'remitted'...placed under the blood of Jesus..

Receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost...Initial evidence is Speaking in tongues....

Live a Holy Life...easily found in the Word of God..

What makes it difficult to accomplish??

Answer:.....Detracting from the Biblical directions given and following the ideas  of men.....

Indiana trip..

Indiana trip..
We started our trip to Indiana [home] by first preaching a special service on Sunday March 13 for our good friends, Pastor and sister Mark Markham, Apostolic Revival Center in west Blocton,Alabama. What an exciting service we had amongst soo many new converts. The Markham’s are wonderful hosts. They took us to a great sea food place where Pastor Markham wanted to order my meal for me. Leary, but I agreed. Well, I ate frog legs for the first time. They taste like chicken. All night I had a hopping feeling! Great time of fellowship and church!!

We arrived in Bloomington late Monday evening. On Wednesday I had the pleasure of preaching in my home church. It was good to see so many friends but sad that many of the older ones had passed. Pastor Joe and Sister Nelson have been doing a tremendous job there. Under his leadership they will soon be in their beautiful new building…all debt free!!! Bro Nelson is preparing the next generation of Apostolics!! God bless our friends, the Nelsons and the Church of my birth!!

Thursday evening we preached for a young man pastoring a very old country Apostolic church, Pastor Seth Eads of Hunters Creek Pentecostal church. This church brings back old memories of when I was a new convert. Bro Eads, AKA Birdman, is a fine young man and I appreciated the opportunity.

Friday evening was a wonderful time of fellowship with our dearest friends, Bob and Cathy Gongwer. Cathy’s father, now deceased, was such an inspiration for me back when I was young. I baptized Bob long ago and how he has grown in the power of God!! They are solid pillars in their church.  We have missed the fellowship having to be so far apart but we still remain close!! We love you Bob and Cathy!!

Saturday we headed to French Lick’ Indiana to be in service with Pastor Brian and Courtney Harrison and Higher Ground UPCI. Indiana district needs to realize that French Lick is about to explode with unprecedented revival!! What a powerful display of God’s presence. What a wonderful bunch of new converts hungry for the Word of God. I cannot say enough about this young couple. They are tremendous people who God will be using to a greater degree in the days ahead. I am proud to call them my friends

Also during this time we got to visit family members who we haven’t seen for a while, is, my sister, Bro and Sis Jim Moore, our nephews, and Lynn’s brother who will be retiring from a career in Law enforcement. this Friday. Also got to visit with both Pastor Loy Baird and Pastor Duane Coffman!!

It was nice to get back with Son, Daughter in law and GRANDBABY…Lynn is still sick and needs prayer to get rid of her cough.

Isa 35:6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

To the prophecy student and/or expert this scripture may not mean to you what it has meant to me!!

Grandma walked with a much needed cane. Mobility was difficult. She wanted to get baptized in Jesus name. She went down into the water and came up shouting, leaping in the baptistry and praising God. It was difficult to get her into the tank, because of the steps, but after she was baptized and received the baptism of the Spirit of God coming out of the tank was much easier. Grandma also did not have any further need of the walking cane.

Her daughter, dumb, unable to speak since birth expressed to grandma she wanted the same experience. After a time of prayer Diana was helped into the baptismal tank. It was not too difficult because she was in good health for a 30 something old. Diana was just silent, she could not talk.

I took her down in Jesus name. Diana came out of the water…but not silently. She was praising God in tongues. Many stood in awe.  Grandma was so excited she jumped back into the baptism tank..Without any help.

Diana continued talking..In English. Grandma continued walking….without a cane!!!

Isa 35:6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

Yes, I ‘ ve experienced this prophecy.

Sammy..

Sammy was a neighbor about 3 miles down the road from where we pastured in Tn.

I did not know Sammy but we always waved at each other in passing.

Sammy was a young 42, beautiful wife and kids, beautiful house and lots of nice ‘man toys”.  The ‘envy’ of all who drove by.

Two years ago while attending a community meeting Sammy’s brother told me that Sammy had been diagnosed with stomach cancer, had been in surgery and the doctor  had sent him home with 6 months to live. He asked if I‘d visit and pray for him.

I visited Sammy several times, even taking some ministers from the church with me to pray at close of Sunday evening services. Each time I visited this man, who , at the beginning, was a robust 300+ pounds, was getting skinnier and weaker.

Sammy cried each time I prayed with him. I helped him to pray a prayer of repentance. In his mind he was ‘saved’ because he attended another church where ‘salvation’ was but saying a few words. I explained the Biblical plan of salvation as found in Acts. Unfortunately his condition deteriorated so quickly that attempting to speak with him became almost impossible.

One early morning I felt led of the Spirit of God to visit Sammy again. God told me to speak to Sammy about the Kingdom of God and the baptism of His Spirit. As his wife opened the door she spoke to me with a broken voice and tears steaming down her face. “Preacher”, Sammy has taken a sudden turn for the worse. His body has shut down. He is in a coma, Hospice is here, and the doctors say he will pass at anytime. ..But preacher, you may see him and most assuredly pray. He will not recognize you or even know you are there. Please come in”

Sammy was lying in a fetal position. He was in a coma. Breathing was almost none existent. He appeared dead. With a great sorrow in my spirit I placed my hand upon his and said “Sammy, God has sent me to speak to you of the Kingdom of God. I KNOW you can hear me” I told him what God had placed in my spirit to tell him.

I placed my hand upon Sammy’s head as I always did when I prayed for him. I said a simple prayer. How do you pray for a man who chose a different plan of salvation and was now comatose and within hours of eternity? I prayed as best I could…..with tears.

Suddenly Sammy started moving.  He raised his head. He sat up, almost erect. His hands went strongly into the air. In a very strong voice with eyes open and bright, he said, “Jesus is a coming soon. Tell my brothers and sisters. Tell my family. Jesus is coming very soon. Let everyone know, Jesus is coming soon.” The words were very clear and strong coming from an almost dead man. Just as suddenly he began to speak in another language [tongues]. A great peace was in that room. Others in that room were standing with mouths gaped open. What seemed like a long time was actually about 5 minutes…then his hands came back down to his sides. His body returned to the fetal dying position as before. I stood again in awe of our God. His wife said “What happened? I ve never seen anything like that before in my life. I ve never heard Sammy ever talk like that”. Having no clear choice of words I told her that Sammy had an experience with God.

Next day I arrived to find all of the family members sitting on the porch, in the lawn chairs. Sammy had died during the night.  Upon seeing me many rushed to me and asked me to explain, one more time [that experience had been made know by his wife to all she talked to that evening] what that experience was.    I explained.

. Acts 2:38 clearly tells us how to be saved: 1. repent 2. Be baptized in Jesus’ name for the remission of sins 3. And ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I learned long ago that God has some different ways and thoughts than mind. I also know he does not change His written word. So, what happened? All I can say is that Sammy had an ‘experience’ with God. Maybe God will tell you why that happened. I do not know. I just did what God me to do….

Another Miracle of Many...

Our first church we ever pastored had a huge mortgage [ inherited from previous pastor], a small group and little money. Consequently every penny went into the mortgage and utilities so our standard of living was very low even after I found a job. Too many times I deprived my family just to keep the church going. A mistake many young pastors make....

Anyways, during that time our large, walk in food pantry in the kitchen of this old,100 year old house, would have more shelf space than cans of food. My wife went to the food closet one day to get a can of something to prepare a meal for us. She found one can of food remaining. Knowing we would not get any extra money for food for a while she prayed.Lynn asked God to keep food in that pantry. The next day she opened that food closet by faith....and there were some cans of food. I had not brought any home. My son, who was in school certainly did not bring any home...he hated green beans, peas, etc.  For that time on God kept canned food in that pantry..even when we did not buy any. Not only that but many times we would leave for hours and come home and find boxes of food at the kitchen door. One instance we returned to find a large box of frozen fish...still frozen..on a hot summer day!!!

Several years went by  and An older lady on Social Security who also was taking care of her three grandkids came crying to my wife and I. She explained that her benefits of assistance being received because of providing a home for her deserted grandkids were going to be greatly reduced. There would be no money for food for the four of them. Of course we prayed to our God to provide. God then prompted us to go to the lady's home and anoint the food pantries with oil and pray. This we did. From that time on her pantry was never without food..even after loosing her benefits. We saw this lady again long after we had left the pastorate of that church. I 'll never forget the grin on her face as she asked me " pastor, do you remember that pantry you prayed for years ago?" I replied " Well, yes!" She then exclaimed" Well pastor, It has never been empty of food..never"!!

Ps 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.     26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

Let me also add, the churches we pastored after that first, heavily mortgaged one, were all totally debt free......

One of Many Miracles

IN the fall of 1998 my wife went to the doctor because of some serious health issues that had rapidly gotten worse. I will never forget the look of fear, despair and anxiety as she exited the medical exam room. I briskly walked over to her as she leaned on the nurses counter. She was shaking. Tears were running down her cheeks and dropping onto the counter. I asked" What is it"? She said he had found something so large that she could tell he was a bit shaken. He had instructed her to immediately see a specialist and the nurse would give her the info at the desk. Thus began her weeks of blood tests, MRIs,more tests, labs before the doctor finally told her what type cancer he was dealing with. He told her an operation was mandatory!  I remember telling him that 'I have a God who can/ will heal her" and him just letting my words pass him by. My precious wife whom God had given me could not/would not be taken away. NO!! I would not accept it!!

The surgery was scheduled for January 25. During this whole time we never used the 'C' word. In prayer God had assured me she would be healed...and in the 'Old fashioned way I had so longed to see". In my early years of ministry I had heard from numerous 'old time preachers' of the mighty ways God would perform miracles, especially healing. I waited and believed it!! A week before surgery we were in a power packed Holy Ghost service. The Holy Ghost spoke to me to anoint my wife and pray for her. While the singing was going on I called her to the front and did exactly that. As the Spirit descended on her her face began to glow and she collapsed to the floor. In a while she began to slowly  get to her feet  . God said to "anoint her again". This time the power of God was so strong and she collapsed again. God said He had healed her. After a long while she again stood to her feet with the Power of God radiating from her!! I watched as she left the sanctuary and didn't return for a long while. Immediately at the close of service she came to me and whispered " We must leave now" . In the car she began to tell me how she began to feel something 'moving'. Without sounding graphic she explained she had passed a large mass of 'something' and some blood. I told her it was the cancer. We took her to the doctor the next day who immediately ran more blood tests and another MRI. When the tests returned he took us into a room and we all sat down. He looked at the tests and said " I do not know what happened,   everything that was present before is now GONE. There is nothing in the MRI or any of the blood tests. I cannot find anything" We both smiled and I told him" Doctor, I told you God would heal her". He hung his head and tears came done his cheeks. He then asked my wife if she would allow surgery to 'insure' that all was gone and there was a typical female problem he could fix at that time also. Surprisingly my wife agreed. She went to surgery on January 25,1999.

I sat confidently but also concerned about the operation and with the pain she would go thru while healing. When they brought her out of the operation room she was still under the 'gas' and would be sleeping for a long while. I decided to drive home to get something. During the ride home the doctor called and told me he found nothing cancerous in her. He said he even brought in another specialist and a pathologist to verify, and nothing was to be found!! Again I told him God had healed her. Her recuperation was a very short one. Her major incision completely healed to the amazement of the nurses and doctors .She has NO SCAR .God had healed her in the 'Old fashioned way" ...just like He said!!   Praise God!!

Since that time we have seen numerous healing of cancers, nerve problems, heart problems and other mighty miracles in our ministry. We take no credit ..God does it all. No one can ever convince me that my God, Jesus, is not a God of miracles!!
